The overall objective of the PhD project is to understand and evaluate the implication of vaccination on resource efficiency (economic burden) of poultry systems affected by HPAI.

The successful candidate will be trained to work in the high containment laboratories at The Pirbright Institute under the supervision of Dr Chris Netherton and Dr Priscilla Tng.

RVC is recruiting a Network Learning and Research Coordinator for a new project called the Plowright One Health Mentoring Scheme (POMS). The scheme will catalyse the formation of an international support network for early career researchers working on animal infectious diseases.

The successful candidate is expected to advance the field of comparative and veterinary immunology through the understanding of molecular and cellular immune and inflammatory mechanisms in healthy and diseased organisms.

The postdoctoral scientist will contribute to the group’s research activities within Pirbright’s Institute Strategic Science Programme. The role includes supervisory responsibilities for students and offers the opportunity to develop an independent research portfolio.
