Biography
Postdoctoral Research Scientist specializing in the molecular epidemiology and genetic characterization of microbial pathogens, with a passion for advancing diagnostic technologies and vaccine development. Skilled in the development, validation, and improvement of molecular diagnostic methods, including PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, as well as First, Second, and Third Generation sequencing techniques, I bring extensive experience in Veterinary Virology. Additionally, I am committed to enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of molecular diagnostics by prioritizing reduced turnaround times, increased assay sensitivity, and improved specificity, all aimed at achieving more reliable and rapid pathogen detection. Moreover, with a deep commitment to innovation and real-world impact, I strive to bridge the gap between advanced research and practical solutions in the field of molecular diagnostics.
Research interests
My research centers on the molecular epidemiology and genetic characterization of microbial pathogens, driving advancements in diagnostic technologies and vaccine development. I have led multiple projects aimed at developing, validating, and optimizing molecular diagnostic assays, ranging from traditional PCR to cutting-edge Nanopore sequencing. My work emphasizes enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of molecular diagnostics, with a particular focus on reducing turnaround times and increasing assay sensitivity and specificity, contributing to more reliable and rapid pathogen detection. My commitment extends to exploring innovative technologies that can be integrated into molecular diagnostics to increase multiplexing and throughput capabilities, ultimately lowering assay costs.
Projects you're working on
1. Analyze microbial whole-genome sequences to support vaccine development and diagnostics. 2. Contribute to the development of a reverse genetics system for the Avian Influenza virus to support vaccine design. 3. Plan and evaluate clinical trials assessing various poultry vaccines. 4. Oversee the design and development of recombinant vaccines, including HVT-IBD/VP2, HVT-AI/H9, HVT-ND/F, and rLSD-BEF.
