Biography
I am a veterinary biomanufacturing and biosafety specialist with over twenty-five years of experience in vaccine production, molecular diagnostics, and the design and operation of GMP-compliant and biocontainment facilities. My work spans both government and industry, where I have led large-scale production and optimization of PPR, FMD, Brucella, and other viral and bacterial vaccines, developed analytical and process validation systems, and provided consultancy support for facility layout, GMP readiness, and sterile adjuvant manufacturing. As the Head of Virology and Molecular Biology at the Veterinary Biological and Research Institute in India, I have also strengthened diagnostic capacity through molecular assay development, outbreak investigations, and training programs. I am certified in GMP for biological products and trained in biosafety, biorisk management, ISO 17025, and recombinant DNA technologies, and continue to contribute to advancing safe, effective, and sustainable veterinary vaccine production.
Research interests
Vaccine manufacturing for viral and bacterial livestock diseases. Biocontainment facility design, biosafety systems, and biorisk mitigation. Process optimization, scale-up, and analytical validation for veterinary vaccines. Development and evaluation of adjuvants for improved vaccine efficacy. Molecular diagnostics, assay development, and pathogen characterization. Cell culture systems for antigen production and virus isolation. Epidemiology, outbreak investigation, and phylogenetic analysis of transboundary animal diseases. Stability studies, cold chain optimization, and quality systems for biologicals. Technology transfer, capacity building, and strengthening vaccine production systems in LMICs
Projects you're working on
Developing and validating molecular diagnostic assays for priority livestock diseases. Isolation, characterization, and surveillance support for Lumpy Skin Disease virus in the state. Strengthening biocontainment and biosafety systems, including BSL-2 facility operations. Consultancy on vaccine production, process optimization, and GMP compliance for PPR, FMD, and Brucella vaccines. Supporting adjuvant formulation development and sterile manufacturing processes. Leading state-level outbreak investigations and contributing to national disease control programs. Training veterinary laboratory personnel in molecular diagnostics, biosafety, and quality systems.
