OPEN CALL: WOAH ad hoc expert group on vaccine priorities to reduce AMU

WOAH has launched an open call for experts to join an ad hoc Group that will update the lists of priority animal diseases for which vaccines could achieve the greatest global reduction in antimicrobial usage in pigs, chickens and fish.

The group will :

- Deliver a “Top 6” priority list (two per production sector) on which advocacy and investment efforts over the next five years should concentrate,

- Compile, where appropriate, preferred product characteristics for new/improved vaccines for diseases in that list,

- Conduct, where appropriate, an analysis of the barriers and levers to the uptake of commercially available vaccines for diseases in that list,

- Produce a 5-year communication, dissemination and exploitation plan covering the promotion and visibility of the outputs it generates to relevant stakeholders.

We particularly welcome applications from experts across our five regions (Africa, the Americas, Asia & Pacific, Europe and the Middle East) with 15+ years expertise in the following sectors :

- animal health/diseases with a focus on pigs, chickens and/or fish (aquaculture),

- food producing industry with a focus on pigs, chickens and/or fish (aquaculture),

- animal vaccine R&D and manufacturing,

- veterinary products regulation.

On the registration form, under ‘Additional Comments’, provide a statement addressing how your profile matches the professional and interpersonal skills we’re looking for as well as your motivation to dedicate a significant amount of time over the next 12 months to deliver ambitious outputs as part of this ad hoc group.

Deadline: Friday 21st November, midnight.

Format & time commitment: One multi-day in-person meeting (Paris, France) plus four virtual meetings over a period of 12 months. Kindly note that while financial compensation will be provided for attending in-person and virtual meetings, it will not cover the time dedicated to ad hoc group tasks in between those meetings.
