A post-doctoral scientist or equivalent with practical experience of virology is required to work on Peste des petits ruminants (PPR) in an UKRI GCRF funded research project within the Non-Vesicular Reference Laboratories (NVRL) in conjunction with the Vaccine Differentiation Group at The Pirbright Institute, UK. The NVRL comprises six National and OIE reference laboratories and provides diagnostic and confirmatory testing for both national (Defra) and international competent authorities. The research is aimed to evaluate available PPR virus antibody assays (virus neutralizing antibody assay (VNT), ELISAs, Psuedotype assays and luciferase assay) using sera from wildlife and small ruminants.

The successful candidate will be joining a group with a strong international reputation. This post will report to the Head of Non-Vesicular Reference Laboratories and work closely with the Head of Vaccine Differentiation.
