Gurumyen was born in Mabudi, Langtang South of Plateau state. He is from Kwande in Quaan Pan LGC of Plateau state Nigeria. He attended Science Primary School Kwande in 1994 and went to Government Science School Kuru for his secorndary education. He later obtained a Diploma in Animal Health and Production Technology Vom Nigeria in 2003. He then went to University of Maiduguri where he obatined  DVM with distinction in Veterinary Pathology and Veterinary Public Health and Prevention Medicine. After his Youth Service in 2011, he worked as a Sales Representaive with Polons Agro Investment Ltd in 2012 and later with National Veterinary Research Institute Vom Nigeria as a Senior Veterinary Research Officer in 2013. He later left for the University of Jos as a lecturer to date. Gurumyen also has a Masters in Veterinary Clinical Pathology. He loves challenging situations and work to get solutions to problems.
