Biography

Master of Science (Msc) in International Animal Health, University of Edinburgh, UK I am a Research Assistant, Biosciences at International Livestock Research Institute with experience in routine maintenance of a unique collection of tick species at the tick unit,Tick Identification and Dissection, Molecular biology,Serology,Microscopy,Sample Collection and Preparation,Laboratory/research animal handling.

Research interests

Biology of Infection and Immunity, species genetic diversity, Veterinary Diagnostics and Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases for effective control and improvement of animal production and conservation of animal genetic resources.

Projects you're working on

Tick Biology: Maintenance of unique colonies of tick, tick cell lines, production of Theileria parva sporozoites, isolation of tick-borne pathogens such as Babesia, Erlichia and Anaplasma,Tick dissection and identification.

Support clinical trials of identifying vaccine candidates for African Swine Fever virus by natural attenuation and through gene edited virus components.

Support clinical trials for challenge model for Nairobi Sheep Disease Virus using susceptible species of sheep
