Biography

Having started out as a farm vet, I specialised in veterinary epidemiology and public health. I spent several years working on various aspects of transboundary animal diseases and zoonoses. Former Chief Veterinary Officer for Jersey in the Channel islands, I now work as Principal Scientist for the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) mostly working in Ethiopia and Tanzania.
