I am a veterinary epidemiologist. My research interest focuses on the intersection between epidemiology, animal welfare and public health. I use epidemiological research methods to understand the dynamics of livestock diseases and their implications for people’s livelihoods and disease control. During the last years I have contributed in a range of projects in different settings and countries, applying my expertise to a range of pathogens including: A. vasorum, Echinococcus spp, E. coli, Eimeria spp, FMD, MAP, Sarcocystis spp and T. gondii.

I am also interested and have conducted research evaluating stunning and slaughter methods in meat producing animals, assessing potential alternatives to improve animal welfare whilst considering local needs and constrains.

I am currently working on two main projects: one looking at vaccine efficacy for a novel Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) vaccine and another project quantifying the socio-economic impact of sheep and goat pox (SGP) in LMIC.
