Biography

I obtained a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia in 2007 with a thesis work entitled: "Economical and zoonotic Importance of Brucellosis".   
Masters degree in Tropical and Infectious Diseases from Addis Ababa University College of Health Sciences in 2012 with a project focused on "Molecular Epidemiology of Cutaneous Leishmaniasis in Human".
Worked as faculty staff in Mekelle University College of Veterinary Medicine at different levels and currently, I am working at Associate Professor rank. 
Followed at variously conferences, training and exchange programmes in different countries (USA, China, Uganda, South Africa, Kenya, and Ethiopia).

 

Research interests

Molecular Parasitology, NTD, Identification of markers for Pathogen identification, Drug resistance and Mechanism of actions.Zoonotic and emerging diseases, molecular epidemiology and molecular diagnostics, immunology, development and validation of test kits, vaccine candidate development, protein work. My current project is 'Web Based Software Development and Implementation on Poultry Disease Diagnostic'.
