Biography

Suresh Kuchipudi is a Professor and serves as the head of veterinary microbiology at the Pennsylvania State University Animal Diagnostic Laboratory (PSU-ADL). Suresh Kuchipudi Graduated in veterinary medicine and holds a master’s degree in veterinary microbiology and a PhD in virology. He is an American College of Veterinary Microbiologists (ACVM) board certified veterinary microbiologist with speciality certifications in virology and immunology. He has extensive research, diagnostic and veterinary teaching experience, has a postgraduate certificate in higher education (PGCHE) and a fellow of UK higher education academy (FHEA).

Research interests

The goal of Dr. Kuchipudi's research is to generate knowledge that can underpin the development of novel diagnostic tools and intervention therapies for endemic and emerging viral diseases of animals and humans. Current research in the Kuchipudi lab involves a range of viruses of veterinary and zoonotic importance. Areas of research focus include, study of immune responses to viruses, viral pathogenesis,  development of vaccines and anti-virals.
