Biography

Frank N. Mwiine, (BVM, MVPM, Ph.D.): Professor and Dean, School of Biosecurity, Biotechnical & Laboratory Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Resources and Biosecurity (COVAB), Makerere University (http://covab.mak.ac.ug). Leader of Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) Research group at COVAB. Before joining Makerere University, I worked as a Veterinary Officer for 5 years at Mbarara District Local Government, Uganda. I have extensive experience in Veterinary and agricaltural extension works, administration, networking, Laboratory based research skills and experience in serological and molecular techniques, methods and application especially on foot-and-mouth disease viruses (FMDV), peste des petits ruminants’ virus (PPRV), African Swine Fever Virus, Ebola and Marburg viruses, lumpy skin disease virus, Rabies and Brucellosis. I have published 50 Peer reviewed scientific articles, a book and a book chapter
