Amber completed her Master’s degree in Cell Biology at the University of Kent researching protein misfolding and toxicity of SOD proteins and their role in the neurodegenerative disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, working on Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Caenorhabditis elegans models. Amber then moved to the lab of Professor Colin Robinson where she spent two years working as Research Technician on an IB Catalyst funded project exploiting and maximizing export of industrially relevant target proteins through the Escherichia coli TAT pathway, before transitioning onto the Global Challenges Research Fund project where she now works as Research Technician and PhD student developing cost-effective vaccine production systems for use in South East Asian countries.
