Biography
My earlier research focused on understanding the molecular evolution and population biology of Mannheimia haemolytica and Pasteurella multocida. More recently, this focus has shifted towards improving our understanding of host-pathogen interactions with an emphasis on the development of three-dimensional air-liquid interface models of the bovine and ovine respiratory tracts with which to study infectious processes. We are currently using these models as in vitro tools for drug and vaccine development.
Research interests
Bacterial evolution; bacterial pathogenesis; host-pathogen interactions; in vitro infection models; Mannheimia haemolytica; Pasteurella multocida; drug and vaccine development
