I have 14 years experience of research and diagnosis of major poultry diseases. I am also Focal Person for undertaking Surveillance and Diagnosis of Poultry disease. I am supervising and  undertaking research and diagnostic work in the area of zoonotic diseases of poultry for improving food safety and security. Currently, I am engaged in the identification of candidate vaccine strains using  cartography techniques and development of advanced  avian vaccines. I have coordinated and conducted  Zoonotic Lab Assessment with International Expert of IQLS. NRLPD is also recognized as the SAARC Regional Leading Diagnostic Lab for HAPI (SAARC-RLDL)  As a Resource Person/technical expert  I have also served on FAO-expert panel for extending training to overseas participants for molecular diagnosis of Avian Influenza viruses in different countries of SAARC region. I continued my research on major poultry pathogens and characterized the viruses and bacterial strains from poultry, wild and migratory birds from various ecological zones of Pakistan. Notably, I have isolated and characterized AIV subtypes, Highly pathogenic H5N1, Low pathogenic H9N2, H3N1, H4N6 and H14N3 subtypes, Newcastle disease Type-VII-F, Avian Nephritis Virus, Pausturella Haemolytica for the first time in Pakistan. Working as technical manager and supervising all the technical activities to maintain the ISO/IEC-17025:2005 international accreditation of Laboratory.  Supervising the research work of graduate and post graduate students  for emerging & re-emerging viral and bacterial pathogens of poultry.
