Biography

I completed my doctorate at Gulbarga University, India, I was introduced to the fascinating field of infectious diseases and vaccine development, where I established the application of bacteriophage therapy for S. aureus bacteremia. During my 1st postdoc, I studied the preclinical testing of an M-protein-based vaccine candidate against major group A streptococcal isolates. Later, I continued my research at Ella Foundation, Hyderabad, where I was involved in S. aureus surface antigens derived vaccine formulations for bovine mastitis-associated staphylococci. To further expand my technical skills in vaccinology and gain a global research prospective, I joined Albany Medical College in 2013; worked on Francisella tularensis (Ft) a BSL-3 pathogen. During this tenure I worked on the impact of host genetics, gender and growth media on tularemia vaccine efficacy. My current research focused on the development of safe and efficacious vaccine and diagnostic tools to control zoonotic infections.

Research interests

Continue to work on safe and efficacious Vaccine development for intracellular (Salmonella, Brucella and Leptospira) pathogens.
