Biography

My Name is Fana Alem Kidane, born in July 14, 1984, in Ethiopia. I have a degree in Veterinary Medicine (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) from Jimma University, in Ethiopia, in 2008; Master of Science in Biology - with two disciplinary Tracks namely Molecular and Physiological Biology and Evolutionary and Ecological Biology, from KULeuven, Belgium. I could also earn a PhD in Biology which focuses on Avian infection and vaccine immunology using the parasitic model- H. meleagridis in poultry, in University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. Since September 2018, I am working as a Postdoctoral fellow at the same institute I conducted my PhD project.

Research interests

I am particularly interested in cytokines and the usage of such biologicals in modulating immune responses.
