Biography

I am from Benin, 28 years old and single. I obtained my bachelor's degree in Science and Technology in 2013 at Lycée Béhanzin in Porto-Novo. I joined the city of Parakou to continue my university studies in Agronomy (University of Parakou), option Animal Production. In December 2016, I defended in Professional License with a very good mention. In July 2019, I also defended in Master Research in the same university at the Doctoral School of Agronomic Sciences and Water, with a very good mention followed by the Congratulations of the Jury. I am currently author of five (05) scientific articles published in peer-reviewed journals, nationally and internationally. This year, I registered for the first year of my thesis in Animal Resources Management at the Doctoral School of Agronomic Sciences and Water (University of Abomey-Calavi).

Research interests

Eating behavior of tropical cattle on pasture and at the trough in a perspective of feed supplementation and intake measurement;
Direct measurement of enteric methane emitted by ruminants with a view to greenhouse gas mitigation;
Potential effects of greenhouse gas reduction methods on intake, ration digestibility and ruminant performance

Projects you're working on

My thesis project is "Estimation of enteric methane emissions from a local breed of zebu (Bos indicus) according to feeding strategies in West Africa". We will analyze the effect of different feeds on enteric methane emissions; compare enteric methane emissions by season; evaluate the variability of organic matter digestibility of different feeds and methane emissions as a function of seasonality; compare the impact of supplementation on animal performance by season; and establish equations for estimating enteric methane based on the type and level of production, the nutritive value of the feed ingested, and animal characteristics.
