Biography

Since 1996, Dr. Dang started his career as a researcher in the department of biochemistry and immunology at the National Institute of Veterinary Research (NIVR). He received his masters and PhD degree in Veterinary Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Chungbuk National University, South Korea in 2009. After that, he moved to the College of Pharmacy in University of Rhode Island, US for his first postdoc funded by US National Institute of Health. In 2010, he won a JSPS postdoc fellowship and moved to National Institute of Animal Health of Japan for his second postdoc funded by the Government of Japan. In 2012, he came back to NIVR as a researcher in the department of virology. From 2015 to 2020, he is head of the department of biochemistry and immunology of NIVR. His studies focused on viral pathogens such as African Swine Fever Virus, Lumpy Skin Disease Virus, Classical Swine Fever Virus, Avian Influenza Virus and Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus, especially (i) Epidemiology; (ii) Diagnosis and Diagnostic Kit Development and (iii) Vaccine development.
