Biography

Georgina graduated with a PhD from the University of Nottingham. Her doctoral research developed Trypanosoma congolense as a more attractive model for studying animal African trypanosomiasis (AAT). By building genetic tools to study T. congolense, her work is significantly enabling researchers to begin to investigate specific biology and unravel biological processes that improve our understanding of AAT. She is currently working as a post-doctoral researcher in the lab of Dr. Catarina Gadelha where she continues working with African trypanosomes.
