Biography

Dr Khor Kuan Hua is a Senior Lecturer at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia and is also a clinical Consultant at University Veterinary Hospital.

Dr Khor obtained her DVM from UPM in 2002 and completed her PhD in Small Animal Internal Medicine – Cardiology from The University of Queensland, Australia in 2012.

Apart from her role in teaching, she works along with clinicians in UVH and receives referrals to assist cases with cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. Currently, she is the Head of the UVH Outpatient Clinic.

Research interests

Her research areas of interest are canine and feline cardiomyopathy, and the drugs’ efficacy looking at pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic and cardiac biomarkers. Canine leptospirosis is one of her keen interests too. Looking at zoonoses and epidemiology. Khor is also actively involved in various collaborative research projects both nationally and internationally; and she has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals. Besides teaching and research, she has several engagements with local industry creating awareness among communities and supports continuing education for the veterinarian.
