Biography

PhD in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Córdoba. During the doctoral training, I performed several stays at the Institute of Virology (University of Ghent, Belgium), the Centre de Recerca en Sanitat Animal (Cerdanyola del Vallès, Barcelona) and the Institute of Immunology (University of Veterinary Medicine of Vienna, Austria). At the latter, I completed a 2-year postdoctoral stay working on the role of transcription factors on porcine T cells. In 2015, I joined the Department of Anatomy and Comparative Pathology and Toxicology at the University of Córdoba. The main focus of my research is the immunopathogenesis of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome, including vaccine development for the control of the disease.

Research interests

Study of tissue-resident memory T cells in the context of vaccine protection and PRRSV challenges.

Study of the innate immune response during PRRSV.
