I am passionate about research that aims to improve the current diagnostics and control methods of human and livestock infectious diseases. Therefore, I have oriented my career towards acquiring and applying biochemistry, bioinformatics and computational biology skills to unravel disease mechanisms. Specifically, I aim to elucidate the host-pathogen-vector interaction interface, in order to identify antigenic or diagnostic marker proteins, that can be used in development of effective, affordable and sustainable diagnostic tools and therapeutic control products, such as subunit vaccines.
