Biography

Dr Raheela is working as an Assistant Professor in department of Pathology, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore, Pakistan. She has 12 years teaching and research experience with more focus on hematology and infectious diseases. Her impact factor is 13.775 and she has more than 29 national and international publications. She is first Pakistani to won G.P Sen young scientist award and cash prize on best paper presentation in Lucknow, India and have presented papers in more than 6 countries in world. She won HEC indigenous and International Research Support Initiative Programe (IRSIP) for her PhD. She won two silver and one gold medal during her academic carrier. She also taught in Selcuk University, Konya under Mevlana faculty exchange program.

Dr Raheela has completed a Higher Education Commission, Pakistan funded project on “Isolation and Identification of Brucella species from aborted bovine samples using AMOS PCR and immunohistochemistry” worth 0.5 million. Her current research project is “Brucellosis Research, Diagnosis and PCR Commercialization at UVAS, Lahore” (568,925/- Rs.) from Al- Abrish Livestock and Dairy Farm, Islamabad.

Dr Akhtar has published more than 12 abstracts in international conferences and four articles in magazines and newspapers. She is editorial member of three impact factor journals.  She is HEC approved supervisor since 2012 and has published one book and two manuals
