Biography

I'm TCHUENGUIA Vianey Claire. I am a PhD student at the University of Yaoundé I. Indeed, I joined the university in 2015 after my baccalaureate, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in biochemistry, pharmacology option in 2019, then my Masters I in biochemistry, biotechnology and development option in 2020 and was later selected for Masters II where I worked on the theme "Repositioning of a library of compounds from the medecines for Malaria venture for their antitrypanosomal activity"on the supervision of Prof FEKAM BOYOM Fabrice. This experience allowed me to master laboratory rules, techniques and assays such as antitrypanosomal activities, cytotoxicity tests, mortality kinetics, combination tests and the use of biological kits. I'm highly motivated to excel in the field of drug discovery specifically on parasitology, but unable to go through this field based on my own means as well as by the modest contribution of my family to bear the high cost of the training as I come from a large and disadvantaged family. In addition, my love for parasitology, cell culture and research improvement and my deep desire to improve my knowledge, practice and promote scientific women, motivate me to rejoin this team. Thus, through this platform I will be able to take the necessary steps (monitoring, supporting and promoting)  to become a leading woman in science research.

Research interests

My research interest is to understand how the active principle ingredients works, on which target and to see if it can be used in right way and safety.

Projects you're working on

I'm working on antytrypanomatids activity of selected Vernonia species through the inhibition of trypanothione reductase and tryparedoxin peroxidase. I'm p particular interested on in silico, in vitro and in vivo studies to know how the actif principle can act and the effective dose.
