Biography

I am a Postdoctoral Sceintist working at The Moredun Research Institute looking at different antigens from livostock pathogens to idenitify and clone them in severlal vaccine platforms and identify which ones would give us immunogenicity.

Research interests

My research interests aims to contribute to the achievement of food security with particular focus on low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), where this ties in with the development and empowerment of the people in these countries.

Projects you're working on

I have previously, with the Roslin Institute - University of Edinburgh, worked on a project aiming to the development of novel antigen-delivery systems to induce immunity in cattle against the protozoan parasite Theileria parva followed by validating new diagnostic techniques for human and animal Trypanosomiasis.

I am currently working, at The Moredun Research Institute, on the development of new vaccines against viral infections of ruminants, which includes bovine herpesvirus (BHV-1), bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) and foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV).
