Biography
A dedicated researcher with a Ph.D. in Veterinary Science from Gifu University, Japan. My expertise lies in molecular microbiology, particularly in antimicrobial resistance, infectious disease control, and non-tuberculous mycobacteria studies. My academic journey began with a B.Sc. in Agriculture (Animal Science) from the University of Ghana. Currently serving as a Research Scientist at the CSIR Animal Research Institute in Accra, Ghana, my work focuses on antimicrobial resistance in food animals such as ruminant, poultry, pigs and micro livestock. In my extensive publication record, I have delved into topics such as third-generation cephalosporin resistance, prevalence of antimicrobial resistance in wildlife, and the isolation of non-tuberculous mycobacteria from animals. Recognizing the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, my aim is to delve into vaccine development to control infectious diseases, aligning with the One Health paradigm.
Research interests
My research interests lie at the intersection of molecular microbiology and infectious disease control. I am driven by a deep commitment to unraveling the intricate mechanisms of microbial resistance, understanding transmission dynamics, and developing effective control strategies. I am particularly passionate about exploring innovative approaches to combat infectious diseases, aiming to contribute to the development of vaccines that can address emerging threats. Embracing the One Health paradigm, I seek to bridge the gap between human, animal, and environmental health, recognizing the interconnectedness of these domains.
