Biography
I am Dr. Aayesha Riaz (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) and working as a Tenured Associate Professor in Microbiology in Department of Parasitology and Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi Pakistan. I possess PhD in Microbiology from world leading College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (The Roslin Institute) University of Edinburgh, UK. My MSc. (Hons) in Microbiology and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) have been gained from top ranking University of Agriculture Faisalabad Pakistan. Working in close collaboration with internationally renowned scientists and teaching students from diverse backgrounds gave me a valuable experience which helped me in Pakistan when I joined Arid Agriculture University Pakistan as an Assistant Professor in 2014. I got promoted in 2021 as a Tenured Associate Professor. Additionally, I have received post-doctoral trainings/certifications from University of Tennessee (USA) under the one health umbrella for the year 2018 and 2019. I have received trainings on One Health Program and Biosafety and Biosecurity Management (BRM) organized by NASEM USA, HSP USA, ILAR USA, Jiangsu Institute China and KOICA Korea. I possess more than 40 internationally peer reviewed publications (with more than 60 Impact factor) and won / completed 6 research projects worth more than PKR 20 Million. I have worked on and submitted more than 40 original DNA sequences to NCBI related to viruses, bacteria and parasites of zoonotic importance. I was also awarded by Research Award twice from Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi for the year 2018-2021 and 2021-2022. I was also awarded by Global Scholar Award on the basis of research performance from American Society of Virology in the year 2021 and again in 2023 in Athen USA.I presented my research work in National and International Conferences including International Herpesvirus workshop 2011 and 2022, American Society of Virology Conference 2020, 2021 and 2023, One Health training USA, UK-Pakistan Science and Innovation network and British Council. I also attended more than 30 conferences, workshops, training courses and webinars organized by National and International organizations, including fellowship from Korea International Cooperation Agency, NASEM USA and Biorisk Management-HSP USA.

Virology, MicroRNAs, Vaccinology, Recombinant DNA vaccine, Antimicrobial Resistance, One Health approach, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Mutagenicity and DNA and RNA analysis, Crosslinking and Immuno-precipitation analysis, CLASH/CRISPR analysis, DNA Sequencing and Phylogenetic analysis
