I am a Researcher at the Virology Section, Center of Microbiology and Biotechnology, VRI, Peshawar, Pakistan. I assist the Principal Research Officer in conducting research and disease investigation, leading junior staff, procuring laboratory items, and designing and implementing research projects. I have over 8 years of experience in the research industry, with a focus on veterinary disease diagnostics and vaccines.
I hold a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) in Pathology from the Animal Health Department, where I graduated with a gold medal, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) from the University of Agriculture Peshawar - Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, where I also received a gold medal. I have developed skills in Histopathology, Diagnostic pathology, ELISA, RT-PCR, Sequencing, RNA and DNA extraction, cDNA amplification; Virus isolation (IBV, NDV) on embryonated eggs, cell culture for the growth of (FMDV serotype A, O and Asia-1) on BHK21, LFBK, Vero, ZZR-127 cell lines, I have applied them in various research areas, such as foot and mouth disease, small ruminants Mycoplasmosis, necropsy, vaccine formulation for CCPP, FMDV, NDV and IBV, and clinical pathology. I am passionate about advancing the knowledge and practice of veterinary medicine, as well as improving animal health and welfare. Currently, I am pursuing a Ph.D. in viral pathology to enhance my diagnostic skills and contribute to the advancement of the scientific community. Research interests
I am interested in studying the Foot-and-Mouth Disease virus, as well as the Mycoplasma species that infect poultry and both small and large ruminants, for the purposes of isolation, vaccine candidate selection, and vaccine production. Projects you're working on
I am currently researching Mycoplasma gallisepticum, funded by PSF Pakistan, and Foot-and-Mouth Disease virus serotype A in both small and large ruminants, funded by the USDA. Discipline
