 
Biography
        
Mohamed Ismail Abdi is a Mastercard Foundation Scholar at the University of Edinburgh pursuing an MSc in One Health. A qualified veterinarian, medical plant and vaccine researcher, and humanitarian professional, he has a diverse background in veterinary medicine, economic security, and livelihood development. Currently serving as an Economic Security Generalist with the ICRC in Puntland, Somalia, Mohamed leads multimillion-dollar livelihood and resilience projects—including fisheries, beekeeping, livestock, agriculture, and cash assistance programs. He previously lectured at East Africa University and has published several research articles. Known for his strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills, Mohamed is passionate about the One Health approach, climate change, and sustainable development in livestock, fisheries, and agriculture.
