I am a PhD researcher in Animal Breeding and Genetics at the University of South Africa, with a focus on genome-wide characterization and scanning for resistance to viral infections in indigenous chicken ecotypes. My research interests span molecular epidemiology, genomics, vaccine development, and disease resistance in poultry. I am passionate about integrating genetic and epidemiological approaches to improve livestock productivity, enhance disease resilience, and support sustainable food systems across Africa. I am also pursuing an MSc in Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh to strengthen my capacity in One Health research and zoonotic disease surveillance.
