Biography
Coming from a background in protein biochemistry and start-up diagnostic biotech in New Zealand, I led the production, QC and logistics side of the Diagnostics Development Laboratory at the Bernhard-Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine from 2018 up until 2023. With two colleagues, also management of the DDL, I then founded Panadea Diagnostics and began providing the range of kits commercially in April 2023. As Chief Operating Officer, I work to ensure Panadea Diagnostics scales efficiently and is able to consistently provide our Best-In-Class kits at high quality standards. Research interests
Seroprevalence and epidemiology of diseases where diagnostics are under-provided by industry or are of insufficient quality to properly inform stakeholders and drive appropriate disease control policy for outbreak preparedness and control. Projects you're working on
Development of commercial multi-species IgG and IgM ELISA tests for zoonotic diseases, including Lassa fever virus, CCHFV, Rift-Valley Fever virus, ebolaviruses, Marburg virus, Chikungunya and SARS-CoV-2, as well as cross-reactivity suppressing tests for dengue virus, Zika virus, West-Nile Virus, Usutu virus and Yellow Fever virus. Pre-release we are working also on serotyping tests for DENV 1, 2, 3 and 4 IgG and for lineage-specific tests for anti-WNV IgG. Discipline
