Biography
Completed my  Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Hawassa University, Ethiopia in 2008. My lat year project was on the surveillence of respiratory problems in working equids in the highlands of Ethiopia.    Masters degree in Tropical and Infectious Diseases from Addis Ababa University in 2012. My project focused on the development and evaluation of a serum based diagnostics for fibrosis caused by Schistosoma mansoni in endemic areas. Worked as a lecturer and researcher in Jigjiga University and Addis Ababa University at different levels. I am currently doing a PhD in Veterinary Microbiology at the University of Melbourne, Australia. I am working on understaing the host-pathogen interaction between  Mycoplasmas affecting cattle and how these pathogens evade the innate immune system and establish within the host.
Research interests

Zoonotic and emerging diseases, NTDs, molecular epidemiology and molecular diagnostics, molecular biology and immunology, development and validation of test kits, vaccine candidate development, protein work.
