Biography

Ian Nanjiani has an independent consultancy business supporting industry in vaccine and pharmaceutical development. He is a former Global Project Leader for ECO, researching and developing a variety of biological approaches to Livestock health.  These activities included collaborations with Research Institutes and Universities as well as commercial partners.  Prior to this, Ian lead Westpoint Veterinary Group’s Research team, and served on the group's Clinical Governance Board. He has been involved in a variety of parasitological and other research programs, sat on the Control Of Worms Sustainably working group (COWS) and the Roslin Institute's Industry Advisory Board, and was AVTRW's council member for practice based research.  A 1986 Glasgow graduate, he moved from UK mixed general practice to overseas development in the Central Pacific in the early 90s before returning to practice whilst completing his master’s degree in Tropical Veterinary Medicine & Epidemiology at the Centre for Tropical Veterinary Medicine (CTVM) at the Dick Veterinary School in 1994, conducting a research project on bovine TB in Tanzania. Following a teaching spell at CTVM, he moved into vaccine, anthelmintic and antimicrobial R&D with Pfizer Animal Health where he spent 15 years developing a variety of livestock and companion animal vaccine and pharmaceutical products before moving to Westpoint mid 2011. He is always happy to discuss new collaborations.
