Biography

Current position: Post Doctoral Research Fellow (FAPESP, supervisor: Dr. Beatriz Rossetti Ferreira) at Ribeirao Preto School of Nursing, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Main research field: development of recombinant vaccines against infectious and parasitic diseases of animals.

Ongoing research activities: a) development of recombinant subunit vaccines against R. microplus (cattle) and R. sanguineus (dogs) based on salivary antigens); b) phage display and microarray-based epitope mapping of tick antigens; c) functional characterization of tick salivary evasins; d) MHC typing of Brazilian cattle; e) BoLA immunopeptidomics; f) characterization of skin immunity of tick-infested cattle.

Education history:

PhD in Basic and Applied Immunology, Ribeirão Preto School of Medicine, University of São Paulo.

M.Sc in Science - Biotechnology, 2014, Technology Development Center, Pelotas Federal University, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

BVetMed, 2011, Veterinary Medicine School, Pelotas Federal University, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Research interests

Projects you're working on

a) Development of recombinant subunit vaccines against R. microplus (cattle) and R. sanguineus (dogs) based on salivary antigens identified by salivary-gland transcriptome; recombinant protein production in E. coli system.

b) Phage display and microarray-based epitope mapping of tick antigens;

c) Recombinant production and in vitro and in vivo funcional characterization of tick salivary evasins;

d) BoLA-I and BoLA-II typing by NGS from tick-susceptible Brazilian cattle;

e) BoLA immunopeptidomics;

f) Characterization of systemic and local (skin) immunity of tick-infested/immunized cattle by single-cell RNAseq.
