Biography
        Arslan Mehboob obtained a DVM in 2014 and a Master’s in Microbiology in 2016 from the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Lahore, Pakistan. In 2016, he received a fully funded Beijing Government scholarship to pursue his PhD at the Biotechnology Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, where he developed recombinant interferons and characterized them for use in passive immunization in poultry.
Arslan served as a Research Scientist at the China-UK Joint Centre for the Diseases of Livestock and Poultry in Beijing, where he studied the role of B cells in Marek’s disease infection. He also established a viral genomics lab in Pakistan to characterize circulating viral pathogens in poultry. In 2022, he worked as a Technical Support Manager for the Middle East at a leading biotechnology company, providing technical expertise for clinical labs and the diagnostic industry.
In January 2024, Arslan joined the Avian Influenza and Newcastle Disease research group as a postdoctoral scientist. He is currently working on developing and characterizing chickenized antibodies against avian viral pathogens. Arslan has a special interest in antibody technology, specifically antibody engineering and characterization.
