Biography

I obtained my PhD at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, before working as a postdoctoral fellow in Birmingham, Senior Research Scientist at the Edward Jenner Institute and Principal Investigator at Oxford University. I joined The Pirbright Institute in January 2014 as the head of swine influenza immunology. I have extensive experience in molecular and cellular immunology of mice, pigs and humans and have worked for more than 20 years in infectious and autoimmune disease models.

Research interests

Swine influenza immunology, vaccinology and transmission, with a particular focus on the role of local and systemic immunity in protection against respiratory infections such as influenza, RSV and tuberculosis.
