I am a Veterinarian currently studying towards a Master of science degree in Epidemiology at University of Zambia where I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2017. I was fortunate enough to complete my Internship at Showground veterinary clinic, one of Zambia’s finest under the mentorship of Dr. E. Oparaocha, and I now work as a research assistant at the University of Zambia. Whilst at University as an undergraduate, I received several prestigious awards for academic excellence including; Best graduate in clinical practice; Best graduate in Surgery and Best student in Epidemiology. I have always enjoyed research and I am now combining two of my favourite things – my love for animals with research. My primary research interest is in the area of vaccinology and Immunogenetics; focussing on immunology of responses to vaccines and natural infections. At present, I am investigating diversity of the Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) I and II of cattle breeds native to Zambia under a collaborative project with Roslin Institute in the UK.
