Biography

After obtaining a PhD in Evolutionary Developmental Biology I changed into the field of vaccinology, initially working on the development of a vaccine against porcine reproductive and respiratory virus in pigs followed by a position in bovine tuberculosis vaccine research, both at the Animal and Plant Health Agency. During this latter period I was involved in various projects analysing the immune response elicited by different vaccination strategies and attempting to identify biomarkers of protection against bovine tuberculosis. In 2015 I started my current position as Postdoctoral Jenner Fellow working on a National Centre for the 3Rs (NC3Rs) funded project. As part of the project I am developing and validating in vitro and in vivo methods to screen potential tuberculosis vaccine candidates.
