Biography
Dr. Mohamed Fawzy held a Ph.D. and served as professor of Virology and Immunology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Suez Canal University, Egypt. He published 52 scientific articles in the field of virology, Immunology, and Vaccinology with 17 H Index. Dr. Fawzy possesses a profound understanding of antigens/immunogens, infection, convalescence, antibody classes, cross-reactions, vaccination responses, immune response curves, serological methods, molecular techniques, and viral vaccine manufacturing.
Dr. Fawzy holds a Diploma in One Health from Duke University, North Carolina, USA, and a Diploma in Vaccinology from Geneva University, Switzerland, and Fondation Merieux, Annecy, Lyon, France. He has completed numerous vaccinology courses across Africa, Asia, and Europe. His commitment to global health is further demonstrated by his participation in many international conferences (including in Spain, India, Uganda, Portugal, Argentina, Thailand, South Korea, Italy, and South Africa) and several national conferences in Egypt.
Dr. Fawzy M., has taught practical virology to undergraduate and postgraduate students since February 2006. Since February 2013, he has also taught general and specialized Virology and Immunology to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Furthermore, he has supervised over 27 postgraduate master's and doctoral theses. Dr. Fawzy is also a TOT certified trainer from the International Board of Certified Trainers (IBCT), and he has organized several training courses in Egypt, GFRA and the Gulf Cooperation Council region (GCC).
Dr. Mohamed Fawzy has twenty years of experience in Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) research and control. His Master's and PhD degrees were both focused on FMD. He has served as a Principal Investigator on a GFRA GAP-GRANT project focused on the mutational spectra of FMD viruses in Egypt. Additionally, he is a member of the Global Foot and Mouth Disease Research Alliance (GFRA) scientific committee, representing North Africa. He has presented numerous oral and poster presentations on FMD at international scientific conferences in locations such as Spain, Uganda, Argentina, Thailand, South Korea, and Vietnam.
Dr. Fawzy M. holds a pivotal role as one of MEVAC's core team members and is recognized as an executive leader within the organization. In this capacity, he is instrumental in the crucial processes of originating, revising, and issuing MEVAC's overarching policy and strategic directives, directly contributing to the company's direction and success. Also, he possesses deep experience in the quality control of veterinary vaccines, including both tissue culture-based and egg-based vaccines, and has successfully represented MEVAC in international organizations and audits, passing 19 national and international GMP certifications.
His extensive career seamlessly bridges academic and industrial excellence, with an impressive 17 years of experience in vaccinology, Dr. Fawzy is a European GMP Certified Quality Control Manager and a leading expert in Virology, Vaccinology, and Diagnostics. He holds extensive knowledge of GMP, and all vaccine manufacturing processes, including Quality control (QC), Research and development (R&D), products development ®istration, and production of virus vaccines for both tissue culture-based and egg-based vaccines. He is a certified Quality Manager, Quality Auditor, and Lead Auditor for ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and 17025 standards. Furthermore, he is MEVAC Contamination Control Strategy (CCS) and ISO17025 Project leader, with responsibility to develop (or review or refine or improve) of the CCS, compilation of the documents, and evaluation of the CCS project.
