Biography

Dr. Sreeja Lakshmi, hold a Bachelor degree in Chemistry and Master degree in Biochemistry from Department of Life Sciences, University of Calicut, Kerala, India. She persued her Ph.D (Dr. rer. Physiol) from University of Regensburg, Germany (2009-2011). Dr. Sreeja did her Post-doctoral Research in Institute of Tropical Medicine, University of Tuebingen, Germany (2016-2017). Dr. Sreeja was awarded with the prestigious Bayerische Forschungsstiftung fellowship by the Govt. of Bavaria, Germany, for persuing PhD (2009-2011). Dr. Sreeja was also awarded with marine Alliance Science Technology Scotland (MASTS) award for Post Doctoral and Early Career Researcher Exchange (PECRE), She has publications in national international peer reviewed journals and has done presentations in conferences at International and National levels.

Research interests

My areas of interests extends from Biochemistry, Molecular cell biology, protein biochemistry and functional attributes of bioactive compounds from natural resources in different aspects of health issues to ameliorate and/or prevent major health hazards including neurodegenerative disorders, cancer etc.

 I am currently working in Kerala university of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kerala, engaged in fish health disease management for sustainable aquaculture. I am interested in studies related to development of nano and glycosylated vaccines for the treatment of emerging fish health diseases.
