Biography

Dr. V. Gowthaman is working as an Assistant Professor at the Poultry Disease Diagnosis and Surveillance Laboratory (PDDSL), in Namakkal, at Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, India. He is specializing in Epidemiology, Pathogenesis and Control of Poultry Diseases. Presently, he is engaged in teaching, research and implementation of the Poultry Health Management Programs including flock health monitoring, disease diagnosis, epidemiological surveillance and International collaborations. His has strong interest in understanding the epidemiology of Respiratory-Immunosuppressive disease complex, food safety and antimicrobial resistance in poultry industry. Currently he is managing the following field oriented international collaborative research projects, including BBSRC funded research scheme on Understanding the emergence of variant infectious bronchitis virus in chickens in UK and India: shared control strategies, ESRC-DBT- Indo- UK scheme on Chicken or egg: Drivers of Antimicrobial Resistance in Poultry in India and GCRF funded scheme on One Poultry Health Hub.
