20th International Vaccinology Course
IVI’s International Vaccinology Course is one of the longest running vaccinology courses in the Asia-Pacific region. The first course was held in 2000, and this year, we’re celebrating its 20th anniversary.
The course aligns with IVI’s mission to make vaccines available for global health by building capacity in vaccinology and promoting vaccine sustainability in developing countries.
This year, the five-day course will be offered on a virtual platform, free of charge.
Participants will gain a comprehensive overview of vaccinology with a focus on COVID-19, featuring lectures from distinguished experts across global health and vaccine organizations including WHO, Gavi, CEPI, U.S. National Institute of Health, National Vaccine Institute Thailand, Wellcome Trust, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Harvard University, IVI and many more.
- Day 1 The Role of International Organizations in the COVID-19 Pandemic Response
- Day 2 Immunology of COVID-19
- Day 3 Pre-clinical Studies and Vaccine Development for COVID-19
- Day 4 Clinical Development, Clinical Data, Knowledge Gaps
- Day 5 AMR, Epidemiology and Health Economics
IVI’s International Vaccinology Course is open to all applicants working in the field of vaccinology, though a background in vaccines, public health, infectious disease research, or epidemiology with English-language proficiency will be beneficial. The course will be conducted entirely in English, and translations or simultaneous interpretation will not be available.
