Integrating gender into livestock research

May 2021

Overview

Integrating gender into livestock research is a short course for researchers of all disciplines. The goal of this training course is to become more comfortable with the basic vocabulary of gender research and to encourage participants to continue thinking about how to integrate gender into their research.

The course will be six hours over two days. On the first day, we will focus on ‘WHY do gender research’. We will discuss the differences between biological gender and social gender as well as how gender norms affect our day to day lives. On the second day, we will focus on ‘HOW to do gender research’ by introducing best practice methods and case studies. The course is interactive so participants will interact directly with colleagues and with members of the growing ILRI gender team.
