About the Role

The Royal Veterinary College is recruiting a Network Learning and Research Coordinator for a new project called the Plowright One Health Mentoring Scheme (POMS).  The scheme will catalyse the formation of an international support network for early career researchers working on animal infectious diseases.  We will connect experienced senior experts who have strong track records in interdisciplinary collaboration, with more junior researchers who have shown their potential to become future leaders in One Health veterinary research.  We plan to deliver a range of mentoring  opportunities with evaluation of outcomes through collection of data on uptake, outputs and feedback.

You will have knowledge and some experience of developing and maintaining a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) that can support a range of learning and networking technologies.  Ideally you will also have some experience in website (Wordpress) management, design and use of online forms, boards and communication tools.  Importantly you will also have some experience of project management

The key responsibilities are:

1) Build and maintain a small VLE that will house materials and host online sessions of the POMS network, ensuring these are well organised, kept updated and compliant with all current requirements and best practice

2)Take a leading and proactive role in organisation of POMS online and face-to-face events to include items such as designing and circulating adverts/reminders, registrations, compilation of information packs, supporting participants travel and visa arrangements, trouble-shooting problems that arise during participation), dealing with reimbursement of expenses to participants.

3) Work with researchers, the POMS management team, and others to produce content for the VLE and for a WordPress website from a range of materials and formats

4) Issue, receive, collate and analyse user data with responsibility to ensure compliance with GDPR

5) Work closely with the POMS leadership and establish productive rapport with users; you will be a first 'point of contact' for many queries.

This post is offered for a period of 12 months, with possibilities for extension. We are happy to consider full-time or part-time working. The role will suit someone who wishes to combine experience of online learning/communication platforms with aspects of research project administration and management.  We particularly encourage applicants who have a strong interest in interdisciplinary learning, international collaboration and the promotion of One Health approaches to control of infectious diseases.  There will be opportunities to travel to attend meetings overseas.
