About the role

The Indian Institute of Public Health Hyderabad (IIPH, H) commenced with a mission to deliver public health education, pursue research and advocacy and support policy development. Job Requirements:

Study Design and Execution

  • Design, plan, and conduct laboratory experiments, clinical studies, epidemiological investigations, and public health studies in infectious disease research.
  • Maintain accurate, well-organized records of all research data, protocols, and experimental procedures.
  • Ensure strict compliance with ethical regulations, laboratory biosafety standards and regulatory guidelines relevant to research studies.

Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting

  • Perform rigorous analysis and interpretation of complex biological, clinical, epidemiological and public health datasets.
  • Prepare research reports, manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and presentations for scientific conferences and professional meetings.
  • Contribute to research grant proposals to secure funding for current and future projects.

Collaboration and Mentorship

  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary One Health teams, including animal, human and environment sectors to advance research goals.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, interns and students, supporting their skill development and daily research activities.
  • Participate in project meetings, journal clubs, and scientific forums to discuss research findings and stay updated with advancements in the field.

Qualification: 

Master’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Security, or a related life sciences field; or an MBBS degree with any postgraduate qualification. Candidates with a PhD will be preferred.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years of relevant research experience in infectious diseases, outbreak preparedness or above mentioned Centre’s key focus areas.
  • Proven ability to independently plan, design, and execute research projects.
  • Proficient in Quantitative or Qualitative data analysis using relevant software’s.
