Celebrating World Zoonosis Day

World Zoonosis Day, hosted on the 6th of July every year, remembers 6th July 1885 when Louis Pasteur administered the first vaccine against Rabies, a zoonotic disease.

To celebrate, we have compiled a video to highlight research funded by the IVVN on zoonotic diseases including Neurocysticercosis, Rift Valley Fever and Bovine Tuberculosis. In addition the IVVN African Schools Outreach Programme , hosted by women scientists from Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia and Cameroon, educates school students on the importance of vaccination against Rabies.
