FUNDING: OWSD Fellowships for Early Career Women Scientists

In partnership with UNESCO’s Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) have announced their first call for applications for the new Early Career Women Scientists (ECWS) fellowships.

Fellowships with a value of up to US$50,000 each will be awarded to women scientists from countries where the capacity for science and technology is lagging; who have completed their PhD in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics; and employed at an academic or scientific research institute in one of the eligible countries.

ECWS fellows will be supported for two years to continue their research at an international level while based at their home institutes; to build up research groups that will attract international visitors; and to develop links with industry.
